OMV started operating in Pakistan in 1991 and, based on
successful exploration, has developed into one of the largest foreign gas
producer with an 11% market share. In the beginning of 2011 OMV held two
Development and Production Licenses in the Sawan and Miano fields and is

robust growth potential gained from the Mubarak and Mehar exploration licenses,
as well as the Mehar and Mubarak development and production leases in the Indus
Basin in the center of the country.
Many of the key skills developed in Pakistan are now being
used elsewhere in the global portfolio, especially as many of OMV’s Pakistani
